What does Bible say about the God’s involvement in our lives? Let’s read these verses in Genesis 24:12-22

  1. Then he prayed, “Lord, God of my master Abraham, make me successful today, and show kindness to my master Abraham.
  2. See, here I am, standing beside this spring, and the girls of the village are coming out to draw water.
  3. This is my request: When I ask one of them for a drink and she says, Yes, certainly, and I will water your camels too!’-let her be the one you have appointed as Isaac’s wife. That is how I will know.”
  4. As he was still speaking to the Lord about this, a beautiful young girl named Rebekah arrived with a water jug on her shoulder and filled it at the spring. (Her father was Bethuel the son of Nahor and his wife Milcah.)
  5. Running over to her, the servant asked her for a drink.
  6. “Certainly, sir,” she said, and quickly lowered the jug for him to drink.
  7. Then she said, “I’ll draw water for your camels, too, until they have enough!”
  8. So she emptied the jug into the watering trough and ran down to the spring again and kept carrying water to the camels until they had enough.
  9. The servant said no more, but watched her carefully to see if she would finish the job, so that he would know whether she was the one.
  10. Then at last, when the camels had finished drinking, he produced a quarter-ounce gold earring and two five-ounce gold bracelets for her wrists.
  11. Then he prayed, “Lord, God of my master Abraham, make me successful today, and show kindness to my master Abraham.
  12. See, here I am, standing beside this spring, and the girls of the village are coming out to draw water.
  13. This is my request: When I ask one of them for a drink and she says, Yes, certainly, and I will water your camels too!’–let her be the one you have appointed as Isaac’s wife. That is how I will know.”
  14. As he was still speaking to the Lord about this, a beautiful young girl named Rebekah arrived with a water jug on her shoulder and filled it at the spring. (Her father was Bethuel the son of Nahor and his wife Milcah.)
  15. Running over to her, the servant asked her for a drink.
  16. “Certainly, sir,” she said, and quickly lowered the jug for him to drink.
  17. Then she said, “I’ll draw water for your camels, too, until they have enough!”
  18. So she emptied the jug into the watering trough and ran down to the spring again and kept carrying water to the camels until they had enough.
  19. The servant said no more, but watched her carefully to see if she would finish the job, so that he would know whether she was the one.
  20. Then at last, when the camels had finished drinking, he produced a quarter-ounce gold earring and two five-ounce gold bracelets for her wrists.

Example of God’s Involvement in Our Lives

This servant was from Abraham which God had promised the land he now occupied. He had sent his servant to get a wife in his homeland. He didn’t Isaac to marry a Canaanite. And the servant couldn’t take Isaac either. So the servant did as he was asked and left.

When the servant arrives at the watering hole he had the camels get down on their knees and wait for the women to come out. As in verse 14 the servant is very specific in his prayer to God on how he is to know that the right has come. So this woman comes close and the servant asks for water and she said just what he wanted to hear. Now first this really had to come from God because women never tell you what you want to hear. God answered the prayer and the first time out too. This is an example of an right answer to prayer and God’s involvement in our lives.

In the days of Abraham, the servants had to believe the same as their masters. But the servants also had to die in order to be replaced because they didn’t want to leave.

How to Ask for God’s Involvement in Our Lives?

Remember lot when he put out the fleece to see if he would win the battle. And we as Christians should do that also. Pray for an answer and wait for it. Lay out the fleece! God tells us to test him, to help see Him in our lives. How do you know when God is in you? Do you get that fluttery feeling in your stomach? Remember what you pray for and watch the answer appear right before your eyes.

When I was younger I prayed for healing and was anointed by my church. I knew God would heal me but kinda forgot about it. One day while at college, I ran out f my pills and wondered what I was going to do. I had no money to get them and my dad had not sent them yet. Then this voice said remember the night you asked for healing? I said yes, just then I realized I had not had a problem in 4 years. So I just didn’t take the pills anymore and that was that. The pills were part of a habit like brushing you teeth before you go to bed. I just took them without thinking.

God does work in our lives all the time. We need to be more aware of what He is doing so we can give Him the glory He deserves. I strive everyday to thank God for what has and is going to do in my life. Thank Him for answers to prayers that have not even been answered yet. Thank for God’s involvement in our lives. You need to expect Jesus to answer all your prayers and give thanks always. As in verse 21 the servant watched her without a word to see if she would complete the job and she did. Just as we watch and listen for the answer from God and to make sure all is answered.
