Children are a Gift from God? According to the scripture, Psalm 127:3-4 “Children are a gift from the LORD; they are a reward from him. Children born to a young man are like arrows in a warrior’s hands”. Children are blessing from God.
Bible Verses and quotes about children are blessing from God
The fifth verse of Psalm 127 says “Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them”. Looking at this scripture, does it mean that every child born came from God or a blessing from Him? Does it mean that there are no children from Satan? Because the Bible says in 2 Corinthians 11:14 “But I am not surprised! Even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light”.
Considering what the Bible says concerning good gifts in James 1:17 “whatever is good and perfect comes down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow”.
No one in Christ will receive a child and be sad for receiving such a beautiful gift. Truthfully, some parents may not be happy giving birth to a child due to lack of resources needed to take care of the child.
God has assured us not to worry about such things because He will surely provide. The Bible says in Philippians 4:19 “For my God will supply all your needs according to his riches in glory”, Matthew 6:26 “Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are?”
You will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will turn into joy
Even though the Bible says Children are a Gift from God, what about people that get pregnant as a result of sexual immoralities, rape or out of wedlock? Can we say the children they gave birth to are blessings from God as well?
Looking at these cases very well, the children are not wanted or welcomed, they came a result of one’s carelessness. This kind of children may not seem to be a blessing from the Lord. For the Bible says in John 16:20 “Truly, truly, I say to you, you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice. You will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will turn into joy”. God can open your eyes to see that they are a blessing, children are a Gift from God.
God can really turn them into a blessing for you!
Every child is not born without God’s consent. Every life was formed by Him (Psalm 139:13) “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb”.
He has a purpose for every life that was formed by Him (Jeremiah 29:11) “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”. It doesn’t matter how a child is born, there is always a plan and it is a good plan for both child and the parents.

God can turn sorrow into a blessing
Children are a Gift from God. The child that you think is a sorrow to you can be turned to a blessing from God. When children are brought up in the right way, they will bring joy to the parents. Parents can also learn how to forgive from the child, (Matthew 18:4) says “So anyone who becomes as humble as this little child is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven”.
Furthermore, God himself commanded mankind saying “be fruitful and multiply”. When you conceive, you should know that your child is a blessing from God, he is gift from God. Should we now, because God said “be fruitful and multiply”, start to have babies illegitimately? Well, it is no, because children are gifts to parents from God only when the parents built the home in a godly way first.
But, if you have conceived out of rape or whatever ungodly way and you are thinking that the child can’t be a blessing from God, you are wrong, because God says “my thoughts are not your thoughts”.
The way we think is different from the way God thinks. He is no respecter of anybody, he will always have is way. Jephthah is an example in the Bible, he was given birth to by harlot. They didn’t see him as a blessing therefore, they cast him out of the family. Glory be to God, for the thought of God is different from the thought of men, he made Jephthah a blessing into his household. He led the armies of Israel to fight the Ammonites, and he won the battle. Every child according to Psalm 127:4 is an instrument or weapon in the hand of God.
Children are a Gift from God and Blessing
God shows us love by blessing us (Deuteronomy 7:13) “He will love you and bless you and increase your numbers. He will bless the fruit of your womb”. There are cases of barren women that was blessed with wonderful kids, they did great things according to the scriptures.
The love that God has for us is the reason why He planned good things for us. The kind of love that God shows us is the kind of love we should show every child irrespective of how they were conceived. When we start seeing every child as a blessing, they become a real blessing and there will be no doubt that they are from God. Children are considered a blessing because you created life through God. Children are a Gift from God.
Not everybody has the ability to create life, you were not given just because you needed one and you just create one. It is not like going shopping mall to get things or getting a new vehicle for yourself, it is not like going to a store to get yourself a baby because you needed one.
It is through God that you create a life, and when you do, that baby is so unique. They make you feel what it is like to be a parent, they make you remember your childhood age, and they are there to point out to you all your strengths and every of your mistakes.Just remember – Children are a Gift from God!
